The artist requested I start the press release with: “Don’t worry, I promise you’re not going to learn anything at this show.” But I would argue the we can learn a lot from Adam Stamp’s sculptures. We learn how to have sense of humor without being flippant. We learn how to walk that very delicate line between self-indulgent self-deprecation and critical posturing. Through Adam Stamp’s sculptures, we learn how to find and truly appreciate a unique and twisted brand of poetry amidst the ridiculous drivel of our lives.
